I am not actually Adedoyin Oseni but I'm going to tell you something I know about him through me or a story of myself relating to him. (Am I confusing you already, please just continue reading)
Two years ago:
Before joining the workforce of RCFOOU, I was just a normal member with the ideology "Flex life (from Monday to Saturday) but remember, Sunday is for the Lord #turnupforjesus)". I would come to church as the spirit wishes with my I.D. card (charger and extension socket). The unfortunate thing is that the spirit's wish only comes true on a monthly basis.
I was chatting (on WhatsApp) with a friend while worship was going on when I heard a sound descend from heaven while I was still on earth. If I pressed my keypad one more time, I was 100% sure an angel would have blessed me with a divine slap. I stared at the guy playing what looked like a trumpet and his modulation had my jaws dropping. I thought he would crack as he climbed high up the pitch ladder but it seemed a divine force was in control of his oesophagus. It was deeper than just being a good instrumentalist, I could swear my goosebumps knew there was a force behind it. I couldn't reply the message on my phone till he finished ministering. By the time I looked back to reply the message, I was 11 minutes late. But I kept chatting all through the service. And that was all for the day. (Note Bien: I was born into a Christian home but back then, I had no business with Jesus, Holy spirit or whatever they stood for).
Late 2016:
Now I decide to join the workforce for a personal reason of mine (Don't ask what the reason is). I still don't have a clue what I'm doing but I know I have to do it. My name comes out and I'm glad I got the band of my choice even though when asked if I would reject any band I am given if not the one I choose, I boldly said "YES, I would reject it"! I attend my band meeting and I see this smiling man. Quickly I remember him as the "trumpeter" of RCF. But why is he shining his 32 teeth at me as if I am interviewing him for a close up advert? Anyways, he is warm and calm to me. Asks me nice questions and explains the "House of Levites" change to me. In fact the entire band was so full of laughter that I knew this' where I'm meant to be. Hallelujah!
Present day:
Now, I get to understand who Jesus is and what Christianity is truly about. Not just that, I get to know that black smiling brother as Brother Adedoyin Oseni. One of the leaders in my band and also the brother's coordinator. I liked the way he carried himself the next Sunday and his dressing was on point. Would have copied it, if not that I am allergic to wearing suit and tie (RCF is working on that).
Mr. Adedoyin takes a liking to me and seems really supportive, then he switches into the "I-know-you-can-do-it" motivational mode. I still remember the day he walked up to me, sounding like my father at the library stand and said "I want you to sell this book ASAP". This I did with a surprising haste comparing how bad I am at marketing. He had this way of encouraging you and pushing you to double up. In fact, he was the first leader to wipe off from my memory this "James Bond vs Zeus" image I have built up about all leaders. He might be friendly and a lot of people only get to see the happy side of him but he can also "vex" you... once in a blue moon though. There's so much to say that I pray I don't start narrating all the incidents I've had with him.
Let me say something about his instrument (I still don't know the perfect name to call it). Deviating a bit, I know one or two things about playing the guitar (by divine grace) and I play (at my Lagos church) to an extent you won't feel like smashing the guitar on my head when I strike a chord. Instrumentalist generally love coming late to rehearsals because they know they will still slay when they step in. But when such people leave and there is no one to fill their void, people don't miss them because of them. People miss them because of their keyboard or drumsticks. This is not so with Mr. Doyin. You will see him go left, go right, answer this call, return back to band meeting, run to assist the technical team. SOLM is still there dragging him and we at Media and Editorial are waiting for him to explain the motivation behind the KC&IJ theme. Adedoyin Oseni has established himself as a multitasking instrumentalist who people won't miss just because of his instrument but he himself. If you go around asking people about him, you will hear one personal tale or the other and all positive reviews. That is simply what I call IMPACT! Les Brown said in every day, there are 1,440 minutes. Which means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact. This man spares no time in grabbing those opportunities
Now I know it is an official crime to "whine" your leaders but the best way I can describe Adedoyin Oseni is that *he is a man who has walked through the path before us and even his shadow has touched lives*. I don't have a biological brother but I can boldly adopt Adedoyin Oseni as my brother.
Sir, you signed out of P.S. sun and I can only imagine how that must feel. Finally, you are done but funny enough, you just unlocked a harder challenging level. Truth be told, there are people out there waiting for your downfall but there's still a million more waiting to see what you would do and follow in your footsteps. Keep the flag flying Sir. Don't let go of that God grip! I might sound funny and informal because this is my WhatsApp tribute to you, wait till I write your biography in the nearest future #bestseller. On a final note, never forget God. And of course never forget me too... Much Love Sir!
