AMETHYST ...he arose (A Poem)

Like a whirlwind upon the Sahara
I felt myself surrounded by amethyst-coloured pines
As I gazed further, dusty tears laid their bed upon my sclera
Still unsure of what crime he committed to pay such a price

Thrust both sides by spears, plugs, nails and pliers
Abandoned by peers, friends, foes and allies
Though famished, he was never diminished
With a gentle voice, he said "It is finished"

He came to save but was buried in a cave
Surrounded by the best soldiers the world deemed brave
Yet death could not hold you down
Three days it took and he was back with the crown

Rejoice, O ye earth
For Jesus, the king of glory has risen
And the debt of mankind has paid
Wherefore ye shall no longer be swayed

Tears turned to laughter
Sorrow remixed into celebration
And I awoke from the veritable illusion
Filled with glorious joy, I chrotled "Happy Easter"
